2 Theories[edit]
- It’s about an article of clothing being washed in preparation for a concert and the horror it would feel if it were sentient. Indicated by the stage background, the “cave of clothing” is a washing machine. Meanwhile, I think the “glamour of rock” and “the spiral” represent the concert T-shirts that are in the wash with the article, surrounding it. This is probably my favorite.
- It’s about a person who is trying to get ready for the concert but overwhelmed by the task of washing their clothes, entering the messy laundry room, etc.

Even Rockstars do Laundry[edit]
'The Glamour Of Rock' contrasts the idea of the rockstar lifestyle with the mundanities of everyday life. The protagonist is doing their laundry on a day they also have a show - here we see a particularly sharp contrast between their anticipated (by either them or the general public, either works) day-to-day and their reality. What they're doing isn't 'glamourous', and they're being a bit tongue-in-cheek about it ('it will astound you') if you interpret the lyrics as the protagonist's thoughts and not narration. If it was narration, it'd seem a little more depressing instead of lightheartedly sardonic, but I simply don't think that's what the song is trying to convey.

Admit We're Machines[edit]
Is it at all possible this song is being sung by a washing machine to someone in a laundry who's pretending they're a rock star at a concert? Just a thought
