Trivia/Info
- This version of "Don't I Have The Right?" has a more upbeat, fast-paced arrangement compared to other versions of the song, and is sung in the perspective of a male instead of a female. When asked about this recording in a 2026 Tumblr ask, John Flansburgh said[1]:
"I just thought it was better. Dial-A-Song was kind of brutal on slower songs. It was very clear that people calling a phone line to hear a song were not ready to settle in with the vibe of a slow song."
- Taped on the service as early as 1989[2], it has not yet seen a release outside of Dial-A-Song.
- During an interview featured in the Durham Herald-Sun in 1990, Flansburgh swapped the tapes on Dial-A-Song from a "dark urban number" to this song.
