The first time I saw these guys. It was just John & John, backed by three metronomes on pedestals. They only used two of them. One was for "Where Your Eyes Don't Go" and I can't remember the other one. I'm sure they played "Ana Ng" but that's all of the set list I remember.
I believe that for their first set, they played their first album straight through. (That may have been the second time I saw them) I remember John F. saying, after the end of "Rhythm Section Want Ad,"
"That completes our first album. I'm sorry if no one told you that our show was going to be 45 minutes long, and kind of a gyp."
Then they did a second 45 minute set.
