  • This is the first song off their first major album, They Might Be Giants (commonly referred to as 'The Pink Album').
  • "The Long, Long Trailer" is a comedy made in 1954 starring Desi Arnez and Lucille Ball. They play a newlywed couple traveling cross-country in a huge trailer that is more trouble than it's worth.
  • This song plays over the closing credits of the film Ed and His Dead Mother.
  • One of the subjects of a TMBG-style parody by "Weird Al" Yankovic, "Everything You Know Is Wrong," off his 1996 album, Bad Hair Day.
