Trivia/Info

  • This song was performed live by Danny Weinkauf and his Red Pants Band at the Bronx Zoo in August 2015, at concerts celebrating the re-opening of their Children's Zoo.[1][2]
  • Video designed by Alison Cowles, co-directed by David Cowles and Jeremy Galante.
  • According to the August 11, 2021 episode of This Might Be a Podcast, which featured Weinkauf, the song was originally written for his solo album, No School Today. One day, when Weinkauf showed it to John Flansburgh, the latter requested that the former give the song to They Might Be Giants instead and save it for later. Later, while the band was working on both Why? and an animal-themed childrens' album for an unspecified record company (not related to Disney), the band decided to put the song on Why? over the animal album, the latter of which never materialized.
