Judges
If your name is on this list, congratulations, you are a judge. I will email instructions to you. Please have user e-mail enabled.
- Duke33 (11:15 EST) - do i really need to put a reason that i'd make a good judge??? :)
- Nathew 14:10, 29 Apr 2006 (CDT) - i used to write parodies. they weren't that great, but i like to think i have an eye for parody talent.
- Whirlwind 8:53, 30 Apr 2006 (CDT) - I haven't read any theme song lyrics yet, ready to start on May 6. Fairness is my point, judge I will by humor. I also like to do something that involves responsibility.

Nice contest! Just wondering, who are the judges? -CapitalQ ♫ talk ♪ 10:58, 16 Apr 2006 (CDT)
- Right now, just me. But if other people want to judge, I'd be open to welcome more judges (depending on how I feel about the user. I wouldn't let just anybody judge! ) Would you like to? -AtionSong 13:21, 16 Apr 2006 (CDT)

- I'm not planning to enter. Therefore I nominate myself a judge (even though this may sound pretty pretentious). - Whirrrlwind (Woosh!) 13:31, 16 Apr 2006 (CDT)
Maybe we should have a poll? Not instead of the judges, but it would be cool to have popular opinion be a part of the judging. Augie 08:31, 21 Apr 2006 (CDT)
- So... how many judges are we considering having? I'd say maybe 8, but depending on how many people want to judge, we could let that go up to raise participation. ~ magbatz 13:18, 29 Apr 2006 (CDT)
- Okay, because I think that 15 is too many points for name, and that 5 would be more appropriate, let's give 10 points to popular vote. This should not affect submissions. Agree? -AtionSong 16:33, 21 Apr 2006 (CDT)
- Popular voting most likely wouldn't work out, anyone can disguise their IP and vote dozens of times or even log off and log back on and have two separate votes. Plus, anyone can keep registering new screenames...I think the vote should entirely be in the hands of the judges. -CapitalQ ♫ talk ♪ 16:53, 21 Apr 2006 (CDT)

- Might be nice to have silent voting (if it's possible) and release the vote counts after the judging is done - not to affect the judge or the scores, just for interest's sake. Just a suggestion. Of course, that's being said scant days before the judging, so whatever. --JiuNoon 23:16, 3 May 2006 (CDT)
New criterion?
I'm thinking we add "Logic" or something like the same to the rubric. We have creativity/humour/wiki-ness, and we have a category to make sure it still flows like the original, but I think for an applicable song, the lyrics have got to make some sense and there should be points awarded to songs that at least make sense and have some kind of logical progression (I'll write an example of a bad one below). I've just checked out the already-posted songs and I don't think either would be affected by the new set of criteria (well, except mine!). The new judging category might go as a 10 point section.
Example of a bad song in that aspect (well, and a bad song overall, but I did it in two minutes):
Call out the administrators Call out Duke Thirty-three The counterfeit spammer Is coming after the wiki YES, I EDITED HIM LIKE A WIKI He frustrates me intensely There's no way to revert The damage he has done Counterfeit spammer's Cracking all the codes The CAPITALIZÈD part really doesn't belong, as the narrator's talking about a major spammer/hacker who needs to be stopped, and then they went on and said something that has no relation to everything else being said. They might lose a point or two.
That's my idea. Then again though, it might already be in the creativity section. But if so, we could just carve out a 5-10 point section of creativity and further define it as relating to "logic" (or "lyrical relativity," or something). Just a suggestion.
- Just personally, I don't think that it's that bad of a parody. -AtionSong 17:24, 16 Apr 2006 (CDT)
- Well, thanks. But it can't compare to my "official," emotional powerhouse of a parody!
- Lyrical relativity. That's a great idea. :) -CapitalQ ♫ talk ♪ 17:41, 16 Apr 2006 (CDT)
