Talk:Nine Bowls Of Soup

From This Might Be A Wiki

I've listened to this song quite a few times with my daughter, and I'm pretty sure that Linnell is the only singer, and I've edited the page to reflect that. The different vocal tones are due to the face that Linnell is singing as two different characters. See the video for a visual explanation. 69.132.12.216 02:21, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

I'm pretty darn sure Flans does the voice of the ichthyosaur. Not the "Whoah! Whoah!"s but the other parts. --Valerie 02:24, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
I strongly disagree. The ichthyosaur is more of a baritone, which fits with Linnell more than Flans.
My vote's on Flans. Listen to more of those nutty low singing flans songs. Maybe King Weed. You'll start to hear it. --Luke 04:01, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
Listen one more time to the very end of the song, where the ichthyosaur is speaking rather than singing. The very last line, "I hope you guys like soup," is pretty clearly Linnell.
Have to cast my votes with those who think the icthyosaur is Flansburgh. And I think Luke is right to point to King Weed for a very, very similar Flans voice. --Tisher 15:31, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
There is no doubt in my mind the icthyosaur is Flansy. Any other opinion is pure fairy-tale nonsense. Listen to the bridge on With The Dark if you need further comparison. --Oddjob 16:16, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
Seriously, it's Flansburgh; end of discussion. It's his voice; I don't understand how someone could hear otherwise unless they really don't know his voice well enough. -CapitalQtalk ♪ 16:18, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
Definitely Flans; give It Never Fails a listen to, the lower parts are very similar vocally --ΰΌΊπ„žπ„†β“†β“€β“”β“›βŽˆβ’Ήβ“žβ“œβ“œβ“β“–β“”π„‡ΰΌ» 00:52, 15 August 2010 (UTC)

This song became a million times better

When John said that thing about how he just really really loves icthyosaurs. MORE JOHN LINNELL INSANELY ADORABLE WEIRD PERSONAL HANGUP AND INTEREST INCORPORATION INTO SONGS PLZ. --Self Called Nowhere 07:32, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
