Boom-chicka

What makes this version of Jessica more than a 'cover' is its boom-chicka backbeat (similar to what Linnell did to Springsteen's Lincoln, Nebraska), which seems to transform Dickey Betts' lovely tune into a piece of TMBG-style ironic commentary. It's as if there were smirking quotation marks about the song. But what is the comment? That 70's rock, even in its moments of beauty, was as shallow as the oompahs of an organ-grinder-and-monkey act? --Nehushtan 00:44, 20 Mar 2006 (CST)

Just gonna say, I don't think TMBG made this cover as an insult to the song. There are many more susceptible songs to cover, if that were the intention. -Penumbra
