Trivia/Info
- The only known recordings are live and performed with The Statesmen.
- "Maryland, My Maryland" was the official state song of Maryland from 1939-2021, and was originally a Confederate war song. This explains why, before live performances, Linnell sometimes said that the line "The tyrant's heel is on the shore" referred to Abraham Lincoln.
- This song takes its melody from "O Tannenbaum".
