- The title of this song calls back to a series of Budweiser commercials in the 1970s and 80s that stated, "This Bud's for you."
- In an August 1998 interview, John Linnell described the process of performing the Planet of the Apes material: "We managed to do a whole long list, not only did we do the ones after the movie titles but we had a couple, we did a love theme and a song called 'This Ape's For You'...but I don't know what the point of all that was."[1]
