- When asked why this song didn't make the Holidayland EP, Flansburgh stated, "I've never thought about what happened. It is a crazy recording. Maybe it just is better existing as a rarity..."[1]
- Contrary to this claim, according to this interview, "Christmas Cards [was not] on Holidayland because Flansburgh was never too happy with it, although Linnell really likes it."
