Hey, Quinn! :D Nice to see you around and back in the TMBG community--welcome to TMBW. The standard on wikis is to put new messages at the bottom of talk pages, by using the "Comment" button on the right side of a talk page to add one. It creates a heading for you, too--very nifty. :] See you around! -CapitalQ ♫ talk ♪ 23:37, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

- Aww *blush*. And I knowwwwww, I just felt the need to specifically note the Flansy awesomeness cos people like assume I hate him or something when he is in fact FANTASTIC. Just cos I'm not madly in love with the guy doesn't mean I don't appreciate him, geez people! haha. --Self Called Nowhere 14:17, 27 February 2010 (UTC)

Linnell Hair
Hi, I am posting here to let you know how much I enjoyed the fact that you made a userbox for 'favourite Linnell hair,' both because it's ridiculous and because it's actually really apt. I've thought about this before, and I think my favourite Linnell hair would have to be the Ana Ng one. Ana 22:49, 2 March 2010 (UTC)

Stephen King
OK, this may seem like a totally random question, but it seems like you would know a lot of random info about Linn'l, if not both Johns. So, do you know if the Johns read Stephen King, or even know a few of his books? I've got a theory, that's more like a hunch or guess, going, but I need this information. -- DidgeGuy (आ ज) 22:02, 25 May 2010
- Hmm?? -- DidgeGuy (आ ज) 16:11, 30 May 2010
- Um, wow, that is indeed a random question. I can't say I've ever heard them discuss specific authors much, just mention books they're reading at the time, but I will theorize that King would be rather too pedestrian for them, especially Linnell. --Self Called Nowhere 00:22, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
- Is there a remote possibility They would reference a book in a song?-- DidgeGuy (आ ज)
- Oh, I think the possibility that they would reference just about anything in a song is always open, really...--Self Called Nowhere 01:14, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

Quick Question
Hey, you can still be reached via the email on Museum of Idiots, correct? I'd kind of like to email you because I have a question about it but it's kind of stupid and I'd rather the entire TMBG Fandom not read it. It [the website] is still active, right? --Sparkling_Omelets 01:58, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
- Oh yes, very much active! I have some things I'll be getting up in the next couple of days actually. I always forget to check the e-mail, haha, but since I know you're sending something I'll keep a lookout. --Self Called Nowhere 02:12, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
Yay! I feel special now. It's on it's way...--Sparkling_Omelets 11:39, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
Oh, and I thought you might know this, too: do you know when Linnell started playing accordion? I think I read something somewhere once that contained this information, but cannot recall. Eek, I'm sorry for bothering you so much! =-) --Sparkling_Omelets 02:14, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
Portuguese
That box would make so much more sense in Portuguese. -Apollo. 15:27, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
- Haha, it probably would! I seriously want to learn Portuguese now just to find out... --Self Called Nowhere 19:20, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
- "Este usuário acha que John Linnell é extremamente excitante e cativante, especialmente com óculos" sums it up nicely. Though, unfortunately, online translators will translate "excitante" in the context of a sentence as "exciting,". Though, perhaps because Portuguese is a Romance language and English is descended from Romance languages, the two are too similar. You should try Swedish or something. -Apollo. 20:29, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

Sirhan
It implies that line is (at least somewhat) disputed on Problems With Liner Notes. Like the 'Id' vs. 'It' thing isn't put on misheard lyrics (or shouldn't be) because that is what They might actually be saying. And it kinda makes sense, or just as much sense as 'sir hand' does. That kind of subtle cultural reference that TMBG are known for. -- DidgeGuy (आ ज) 23:32, 28 October 2010
- Explain to me exactly how it "makes as much sense" as referring to a hand i.e. that thing that would be used to put a snail back into its shell? Especially considering the next line is "or is it ma'am?" And its section on that page says that SOME people hear it that way, not that it is correctly that way. If it were that correctly it would be under the "wrong lyrics" section. And it is listed as hand on the actual lyrics page with no note of it being "in dispute." But I'm really very curious about how it makes any sense at all, let alone "as much sense" as hand. --Self Called Nowhere 23:51, 28 October 2010 (UTC)
- Oh, yeah, the liner notes are always completely correct and They or the record company have never changed the liner notes to something like 'wishnik' so as not scare or offend or whatever. Well, all sarcasm aside, so, you're saying it's a song to a hand? Hm, never thought about it that way. I saw the snail shell as a metaphor for a bad position, and that the song was entirely more metaphorical rather than literal. But I suppose that is open to interpretation. -- DidgeGuy (आ ज) 00:04, 29 October 2010
- Focusing on the original thing DidgeGuy was trying to tell you, Quinn, I agree that if some people still think that "sirhan" is the correct lyric, it shouldn't be put on misheard lyrics until the correct lyrics are decided. -- Buzzmusic100 ("Keep your voice down...")
- Some people can hear things differently without it meaning it's not correct. I'd never even heard that anyone heard it that way. And I don't believe I said that liner notes are always correct, but in a case where the thing very much sounds very much like the thing in the liner notes, and the "other thing it could be" MAKES ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE WHATSOEVER, I think it's a pretty safe bet that the liner notes are correct. I also definitely don't believe I said the song isn't metaphorical; I don't see how you're getting that out of what I said. You think the snail part is metaphorical but the idea of a hand isn't? And I'm still eagerly awaiting an explanation on exactly how an assassin fits into it, metaphorically or otherwise. --Self Called Nowhere 01:28, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
- True. Though, it's not just one or to people, as I understand it, but many people. And it certainly sounds a lot like 'sirhan'. I suppose hand would work, the phrase seems odd, though. Perhaps the referencing of Sirhan Sirhan is that the story is of a man who is ruled by radical views. He begins to question his thinking, but looks back through history and sees radicals (e.g. Sirhan Sirhan), and feels he must punish himself for ever wavering in his views. Yeah, weird interpretation, and it's probably not something that complicated, but there you go. -- DidgeGuy (आ ज) 02:30, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
