Talk:The Sims 2: FreeTime

From This Might Be A Wiki

This may be a dumb question, but I'm not really a video game guy: This is an expansion, so does that mean if I were to get this for the two TMBG songs, I'd also have to purchase some kind of normal/main Sims game? Or can Freetime stand on its own? Please help, video game people! :) Drew 04:48, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

the former. also, you could still only listen to them in-game, unless you were to go digging in the game's resources, which is very doable. --ant 04:50, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
Well, that's what I was afraid of. Thanks for the info. How doable would digging in the game's resources be if you DIDN'T have a main version of the game? The same or less so? :) Drew 05:59, 14 March 2011 (UTC)D
it is very doable without the main game... you just need to go through the some directories. there are plenty of instructions on google on how to get music from sims games. however, there's one further hurdle; the in-game music is stored as several long mp3s, with several tracks per file. you'd then want to use a lossless mp3 editor to extract just take out the trash. if i remember correctly, the theme is its own file. --ant 06:23, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
For the record, you can hear the Simlish version of "Take Out the Trash" on my Tumblr <a href="http://selfcallednowhere.tumblr.com/post/2094807237/tott-simlish">right here</a>, and since we're on the topic I put up the Freetime theme <a href="http://selfcallednowhere.tumblr.com/post/3851103344/sims-2-freetime">just now.</a> Enjoy! --Self Called Nowhere 07:17, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
