About the note relating to Jim Fouratt, personally I disagree that the tape would've been used to secure shows at the Pyramid Club, as the Johns had already been playing there since 1983 and I feel like would've known the people. Feels more likely the 1984 tape would've been sent to secure shows at the Danceteria since Fouratt was one of the founders for that club. - Mrsomebodyelse (talk) 17:44, 16 November 2025 (EST)
- Fouratt left Danceteria in June 1982 and was only booking the Pyramid at this point (this article from Oct. 84 goes into good detail). I think it makes sense the band would submit a tape--they weren't really regulars yet, having played just two other shows there in 1984. --Batwho (talk) 08:53, 17 November 2025 (EST)
- Thanks so much for the article link, it's an insightful read! I've just elaborated on these details of Fouratt becoming involved in booking at the Pyramid Club as it was confusing to me since I didn't know the history when first reading. I'm still skeptical on whether or not the band really would've NEEDED to submit a tape, but they sent their new tapes to Gary Ray of Darinka in 1985 despite already being established names at that club so anything is possible! - Mrsomebodyelse (talk) 17:24, 17 November 2025 (EST)
