Talk:Number Three (1985 Demo)

From This Might Be A Wiki

Gonna argue that this should be titled as a mix instead, since it contains the same instruments and vocals as the album version. It's even mentioned as a mix in the trivia. Maybe it could be titled (Early Mix), (1985 Demo Mix) or (1985 Rough Mix), similarly to the 1989 mix of They Might Be Giants. I also want to argue the same for the demos of Chess Piece Face, Boat Of Car and Mr. Klaw as they all contain instrumentals or vocals that are present in their finished versions.

It ""could"" also apply to demos like Put Your Hand Inside The Puppet Head (Demo 2), which has the same vocals as Demo 3 (could be called something like or similar to 1985 Promotional Mix), and Youth Culture Killed My Dog (1985 Promotional Demo) which has the same instrumentation and vocals as the Youth Culture Killed My Dog (1985 Demo) apart from the addition of instrumental and vocal overdubs and the change to the intro (could maybe be 1985 Sampler Mix since the tape it comes from is referred to as a They Might Be Giants Album Sampler in the liner notes). These were some things I wanted to clear up with the system I proposed on the Talk Page, but if the 1983/85 system is still preferred, I think these could help clear up the confusion between the mixes and demos here. - Mrsomebodyelse (talk) 23:49, 24 September 2024 (EDT)
