Hope it's okay for me to create this page. I was originally gonna include all of these bands on Category:Opening Acts, but as I clicked through each individual concert I slowly realized just how many bands have opened for TMBG. I didn't want to clog up the Category page, but I figured this would be a useful, or at least fun, resource. Will finish adding every single band as soon as possible of course. The "Shows Opened By They Might Be Giants" page could also have a list of headliners. Excluding festivals, CBGB, etc. this would be:

Also, how is "co-headlining acts" defined? Based on the Daily News description on this show page, it doesn't seem like Shazork was opening for They Might Be Giants. --ColorOfInfinity (talk) 20:59, 16 July 2024 (EDT)

Some shows, at least on their pages, TMBG is listed as co-headlining with some bands. For example, this show where they co-headlined with several different acts. In that instance the concert had no definite headliner, it wasn't a They Might Be Giants concert featuring the other acts. For that concert with Shazork its hard to tell if it was actually a bunch of openers, so I simply went with what the page said. They probably should be considered co-headlining acts in all honesty— Including a list of artists who've co-headlined may also work out well in order to iron out discrepancies like that.--Robot Parade (talk) 00:44, 17 July 2024 (EDT)

I'm back to say that I misread the page title and was thinking of Category:Shows_Opened_By_They_Might_Be_Giants. That's the page that should have the (relatively short) list of shows on a table. -TDK (talk) 11:06, 22 July 2024 (EDT)

Took me long enough! I started this page as a way to pass time over the summer before I went back to college, and now I know WAY too much about the opening acts of TMBG. I'm not going to link any pages to this page until at least tomorrow; that's when I'll clean up the Opening Acts page and link it back to this. Eventually I do plan on going through all of these names again and writing wiki pages to any of the bands/artists that have some kind of TMBG significance. (Opened for them on multiple occasions, common collaborators, etc.) There's not too many, most of the ones that are actually important to the documentation of TMBG already have pages or are mentioned sufficiently elsewhere.
