Fan Recaps and Comments:

This show and a Saturday show on September 6th were a part of Darinka's "official" reopening[1] after its raid and subsequent closure on June 29th, 1985[2] and an unofficial reopening sometime around April 1986. Both programs were mentioned in a 1986 article from High Performance magazine:

The East Village performance club Darinka has reopened as a private (for legal purposes) performance studio with Friday and Saturday performance programming featuring many of the old regulars, such as Chazz and James, They Might Be Giants and The Alien Comic. Darinka boss Gary Ray says that the club has added much needed air conditioning.

Two photos from this show were used as backdrops for the 2003 documentary Gigantic (A Tale of Two Johns), and are absent from the Darinka archives housed in the Fales Library at NYU.
