They Might Be Giants
Neither/Nor in New York, NY
September 13, 1985 at 11:00 PM

Fan Recaps and Comments:

This was the last show They Might Be Giants performed at Neither/Nor. In an interview with Gary Ray in 1986, the band explained:

We have fun playing all the small clubs here [in the East Village]. Except Neither/Nor. We'll never play there again. We tried doing free shows there and the doorman was taking money from people.

"WORLD FAMOUS IN THE EAST VILLAGE" by Paul Iorio
Cash Box, Sept. 28, 1985:

With no apologies to George C. Scott, the two-man band They Might Be Giants performed with ferocious tape loop backing at the East Village club Neither/Nor. John Flansburgh and John Linnell are the prolific singing/songwriting duo who play highly entertaining original tunes like “She Was a Hotel Detective” and “32 Footsteps.” They will also be playing a New Music Seminar showcase at 8BC on September 27.
