EVERYBODY EVERYBODY
John F. here. Momentarily home, happy to be celebrating my birthday with friends and regrouping for more upcoming shows and the general celebration around The World Is to Dig. As we map out new Instant Fan Club ideas, a new rarities album with some previously unreleased stuff on it is also under discussion. Also know that there is a killer remix of Get Down coming up fast, so lots to look forward to near-term.
The last leg was kind of an escalation; with so much new repertoire introduced, we started off well rehearsed but still a tad timorous. But, like every tour, things came together fast and by Chicago we were firing on all 8 cylinders and the shows there were glorious and extra chatty. We played a total of 74 different songs so far on this tour (which personally I think is pretty remarkable) and are now actively rotating Lincoln, Flood, Apollo 18, John Henry, and Factory Showroom spotlights while rocking essentially two fully different “favorites” sets, and a scrambled third. Of course, new songs from The World are still landing, as well as new horn arrangements for some of the older material which add extra interest.
The big stands coming up fast are Philadelphia and Brooklyn, which are both on track to sell out soon, and two big big June shows at Boston's fantastic House of Blues (formerly the Avalon and the location of some transcendent TMBG shows, which was formerly the Boston Tea Party, a legendary rock venue made famous by the Velvet Underground and the Grateful Dead).
Shows start at 8pm. 8-piece band. 3 horns. 2 sets. More new songs, different old songs, and more aimless talking than ever!

Our brand new album is finally here!
THE WORLD IS TO DIG is available in 3D.
Perhaps you saw the shows but didn’t get a chance to follow up with these new vinyl pressings. Well, they are in stock and shipping today, so dig the analog warmth!
It’s hard to showcase it all, but there is LOTS of new physical product! Check in with The World Is to Dig socks...
…and this optimistic, acorn-oriented shirt.
JF here again. I found this surprising. I suspect many have heard folks saying that “vinyl is back” (and for us it has really come charging back in the last five years), but quite unexpectedly in the past couple of years interest in CDs has BLOWN UP. We started pressing cassettes and CDs in a speculative way a while back, but the sales of CDs in the last year or so have taken off. Of course, there is no way to predict these things, but as long as this keeps up, we will try our best to meet the demand. Right now, we are happy to point everyone to www.TMBGshop.com where we have freshly printed CDs of The World Is to Dig, along with Glean (and yes there is more to come!).
…but this one is especially new and, as a surprise, features ANTS in its classic coffee cup design.
We still have nightlights at www.TMBGshop.com
…and there are beautiful John Henry shirts…
…and, as unlikely as it may seem, there are John Henry hammers.
