Hey hey! Our t-shirt and garment sale is on this week. As some have noticed, over the years They Might Be Giants has made the band t-shirt an art form, with over 100,000 unique designs on our site. Some of them have never sold a single shirt and remain unloved in our Texas warehouse, while other designs have entirely filled dozens of clothes dressers across the US.

You might have some of these shirts in your possession, but a small bird informed us that they are stained, over-worn and over-washed, and would not fetch their proper value on Antiques Roadshow in future years. Replenish your collection now with fresh fresh merch.

And, as we say about all our shirts –– they all have a story. Here are some of them...
THIS NEW SHIRT IS ON A SUPER-SPECIAL –– 50% OFF THIS WEEK!

THE DIAL-A-SONG SHIRT

From world-renown New Yorker illustrator Dave Plunkert. In olden times, you needed full-body gear to venture deep into the world of Dial-A-Song. Now, with this shirt, everyone can enjoy the Dial-A-Song experience. Leave all the bulky cables and heavy phone boxes behind, and get this glorious design!

All sizes in stock, up to 3XL. www.TMBGshop.com

NEW! JOHN HENRY SKULL SHIRT!

This image is direct from the Back to Skull EP, and was part of our big 360º set of recent John Henry-related vinyl merch (including a handmade JH hammer). Unexpectedly, the 1000 pieces of vinyl sold out in less than 24 hours, but we have this very sharp shirt to tell the tale. In beautiful burgundy.

All sizes in stock, up to 5XL. www.TMBGshop.com

TMBG Dinosaurs

Stump yourself, mystify your friends! It’s TMBG dinosaurs. Do you know what they are called? The secret's on the back.

All sizes in stock, up to 5XL. www.TMBGshop.com Also in kids sizes and onesies.

THE FINGERTIPS SHIRT

Universally praised as the greatest shirt ever made. David Cowles took his limitless imagination to new heights in this remarkable shirt based on the song Fingertips, with each panel illustrating one of the 21 song fragments in the track.

All sizes in stock, up to 5XL. www.TMBGshop.com

THE DOCTOR WORM VENN DIAGRAM SHIRT

We’ve always known that TMBG folks love Venn diagrams, and we’ve always known that TMBG folk love the song Doctor Worm, but when Reilly Vanniekerk created this Venn diagram and posted it on TMBGareOK, who knew it would create a TMBG cultural explosion? And because the design is bold and simple, the overall amount of ink is light on the fabric, making it a perfect, comfortable tee that you can enjoy for years to come.
Available on dark energy black.

All sizes in stock, up to 3XL. www.TMBGshop.com

SCIENCE IS REAL!

When the album Here Comes Science was being created, no one could have imagined that this song title, with its own inspiration found in the unlikeliest of places (the Louvin Bros. song “Satan is Real”) would capture the imaginations of disenchanted normal people across the country during these weird and terrible years, or that it would become a bona fide slogan on rainbow signs on lawns everywhere as ubiquitous as Live Laugh Love? This shirt, designed by David Cowles, is the original specimen. Join us.

All sizes in stock, up to 3XL. www.TMBGshop.com

FLOOD SOCKS!

Everybody knows that the holidays mean socks, and with the introduction of this extraordinary and exceptional Flood sock, made by harnessing the power of super computers, we have the perfect gift for everyone on your holiday gift list. Get ‘em before they disappear in the dryer.

WINTER IS COMING
THE JOHN HENRY SKULL BEANIE
The skull head is in front of you as you go through the winter months in comfort and style.

THE TMBG UNIVERSITY SWEATSHIRT

With the price of higher eduction going through the roof, a practical solution for the unmatriculated is finally here. This sweatshirt is the perfect middle layer for these coming winter months, and possibly the most thoughtful holiday gift for that college-bound pal, or maybe just YOU.

THE CATS VS ZOMBIES SHIRT

Cats are so adorable; they’re almost too much! Zombies are so horrible; they’re almost too much! Bring them together and you’ve got the perfect balance –– horrible adorable and adorable horrible. All hail David Cowles for his graphical skills.

All sizes in stock, up to 4XL.

THE FLOOD FLYER SHIRT

For many years, local graphic people have made posters for our shows as we came through their town. Some were good, some were great, but few have been as magnificently clever as the Flood Flyer shirt. Inspired by the sales flyers of a grocery store, designer Jared Swafford used the running times as prices and created this unique shirt. The backward Sapphire Bullets of Pure Love is the final masterstroke that makes this design so very sharp and special.

All sizes in stock, up to 3XL. www.TMBGshop.com

THE CRYPTID SHIRT

Cryptids. What are Cryptids? Well, we’ll leave the Google search to you, but here is a beautiful illustration of the mysterious creatures. Any resemblance to Flansburgh and Linnell on the front of the shirt is entirely intentional.

All sizes in stock, up to 5XL. www.TMBGshop.com

Floating in on a beautiful pistachio colored shirt, this Flood design is beyond the obvious.

The 2060 shirt checks in with John and John’s obsession with mortality. Not for the faint of heart.

Apollo 18's cover was originally seen on Fate Magazine and illustrates the eternal battle of the giants –– the whale vs. the giant squid, here with an Apollo LEM surveying the fight. And now, it is finally a shirt!

And finally, a return to beautiful design with this near Spirographic experience with a logo designed by Sam Potts

NEW! THE SYNOPSIS FOR LATECOMERS SHIRT

This is a brand new design from Kelilah Miller, created by hand with actual wood-cut tools and print making equipment, this shirt might be the purist physical manifestation of a non-AI product

All sizes in stock, up to 3XL. www.TMBGshop.com

(This is a tour promotion image, but even THIS is a t-shirt, so if you love it, get one in t-shirt form!)

SOME SONGS TO MIX THINGS UP

From John F.: “Hello! And welcome to Autumn—that briefest of seasons before the avalanche of family responsibility that is Thanksgiving and the December holidays.

Here is something to take the load off.. With a focus on a bit of musical discovery.

Notably, near the top is a track from the new Geese album everyone is listening to. I became semi-obsessed with the vibes of the Cameron Winter album, so I was super-psyched to hear this new album was coming, and it is quite the payoff.

Also, I became recently aware via TMBGareOK of this amazing quote, which warmed my ice-covered heart…
I could not resist including Pussy Palace from the new Lily Allen album everybody is talking about. Honestly, I’ve always enjoyed her shade of shade, and while truth serum lyrics don’t usually entertain me, the withering candor here is kind of a revelation. I hope she keeps going.

Also in the mix is Robert Palmer. I’ve been digging into his earliest Island albums which are pretty remarkable, spotlighting some New Orleans music royalty with the Meters, Art Neville, and Allen Toussaint all contributing, along with members of Little Feat. Hearing this Lee Dorsey track from the early sixties made over into this steamy, lascivious version is exactly what Palmer’s vibe was about.

There is a relatively recent Paul McCartney song that is quite joyful, followed by a track from back in the day from singer/actor Kenny Lynch, a long-time McCartney pal who actually is in the faux band on the cover of Band on the Run.

(I even included a TMBG track from the Beast of Horns Sampler because I’ve been told by serious people that "that’s the point,” but I’m just doing this for fun!)

And it all wraps up with a song from (correction) Satchmo Sings. Love everything about that man.

Hope you enjoy these tracks. I’m going to try to keep the ball rolling in this dept. and cook a new one up for the end of this week. Watch this space!"

We also want to make everyone aware that the TWELFTH anniversary of the They Might Be Playing They Might Be Giants music marathon is happening on Friday, November 14.
