Liner Notes[edit]
Self, you said in your edit reason the liner notes say "lining". Could you point me to them? Are they on the wiki? I don't see them on They Might Be Giants (Album), does someone have them? --Pittsburghmuggle (talk) 01:53, 27 April 2015 (EDT)
- My thinking is I don't hear "lining", which is two syllables. He sings "Rubber", there's a syllable, and then "the walls". We either have an easily Misheard Lyric (where even one of the misheard lyrics is "rubble on", so I'm not the only person hearing "on"), or we have a new Problems With Liner Notes.--Pittsburghmuggle (talk) 02:10, 27 April 2015 (EDT)
- I just listened again, and I definitely hear "lining." So. And no I don't have a scan of the liner notes, but that's what they say. If they didn't, and anyone else agreed with this, then it would be, yes, under "Problems with Liner Notes." --Self Called Nowhere (talk) 02:19, 27 April 2015 (EDT)
- I do too. I mean, the second syllable is slightly swallowed, so it's more like "rubber linin' the walls", but yeah, I've honestly never heard anything different. - Rev. Syung Myung Me (talk) 02:23, 27 April 2015 (EDT)
- very much "linin'". -- 03:07, 27 April 2015 (EDT)
- I used to think it was 'rubber on' but it sounded weird because of the swallowed syllable, as Rev put it. If you listen to it live [here] it's much clearer. He definitely says lining on the record. Sonderling (talk) 10:42, 27 April 2015 (EDT)
