I had the idea that this song might be about homophobia. One guy (and we know it's a guy, because of the use of the pronoun "he") asks "the fellow next door" for the last dance, and the fellow next door flips the first guy the bird, because men dancing together isn't considered mainstream behavior. I'm probably way off base here, though. -VoVat
