"Light turns green"[edit]
@_@ If you wait until the light turns green to cross the street, you'll get hit by a car. --Walrus 17:20, November 24, 2004
- Maybe she's talking about the light turning green as in the "walk/don't walk" sign... even though they turn white.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.12.116.196 (talk) 15:08, January 9, 2005
- I think when she says 'wait until the light turns green', she means the light of the street perpendicular to the one you are trying to cross. --Ganna 12:01, September 28, 2006
- Actually, I've seen a number of pedestrian lights that are set up exactly like regular traffic lights (green, yellow, red). Hell, I go to college in Ellensburg, WA and they have lights like that here for pedestrians. --JazzJesus 23:50, May 30, 2007
- I agree, I think that it's the light perpendicular to the crosswalk, so that you are walking in the same direction that the cars are walking. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.128.201.245 (talk) 18:47, April 10, 2010

Public service announcement[edit]
This is (apparently) an old public service announcement from the State of New York Department of Public Safety. I have another version of it (with slightly more sensible lyrics, IMO) on a CD called TV Toons: The Commercials. --TimK
Why not?[edit]
I like this song a lot; and it's performed beautifully. Although it seems to be inspired from Muppet Show theme a little bit too much, its just beautiful; no problem. But I really don't understand the logic behind the words. If there is no light on a corner, isn't it more dangerous to cross the road near to corner? Why its more dangerous in the middle? In the middle, you can check if a car is coming or not in only 2 directions. In a corner you have to check more directions, and more complicated things occur on the corners.--Korhun
While there may not be a traffic light at every corner, that is where they are usually located (especially in NYC, where the PSA originally came from), and there are almost never traffic lights in the middle of blocks, so all the ad is basically saying is don't cross where there isn't a traffic light.--Kaylum (talk) 11:26, 10 February 2019 (EST)
