Depression[edit]

I think it is fairly clear that this song is about a guy who loses someone (maybe they just split up with him, maybe they die suddenly, I think it might be the latter since he "can't change anything") and his resulting descent into depression. He tries to carry on with his life but stumbles and cannot socialise anymore ("mumble something, mumble sorry, bye"). He has no energy ("sit right down"), his mood is very low ("start crying"), and he has no motivation ("stop trying"), which are all signs of clinical depression. Eventually he develops suicidal thoughts manifesting as thinking his pencils look like a firing squad, and may have developed paranoid delusions as he believes that there is something in his drink. He sees no hope for the future ("that's the way it's gonna be"). --Not a real worm (talk) 09:19, 19 April 2026 (EDT)
