dark forest[edit]
The Fermi paradox has been resolved as it turns out the answer was dark forest. Another benevolent alien species tried to send a secret message to “get down” and avoid detection however it was too late and the other highly advanced and malicious species (hopefully the borg) arrived to end humanity as it was known. Aliens love a dance party[edit]
'Get down' in the sense of "to perform music or dance effectively and infectiously" (Merriam-Webster). The alien species has a culture of partying to funky music and its first order to Earth is that this must be respected and complied with. Contrast the response from the human authorities telling people to "go down, stay down", which means what you might have thought "get down" meant as an order to drop to the floor and stay low so as to avoid detection or avoid projectiles. -- Not a real worm (talk) 05:22, 16 April 2026 (EDT)
Aliens Warning Dinosaurs (or early humans, i GUESS.)[edit]
what i believe is happening in this song is aliens saw the earth when dinosaurs were alive, but because of their distance the message they send to warn them about the asteroid takes very very long to get there. Humans see the “get down” message and misinterpret it as a warning of present danger, when the disaster had really happened very long ago. I say “early humans i GUESS” in the title because i googled it and one hundred thousand years ago was when early humans were leaving the ice age so it might not be about dinosaurs, but then again, ana ng is about someone in france speaking to someone in peru but it wasnt planned at all. its just the way the lyrics went! so.
Will there be another race to come along and take over for us?[edit]
This track makes me think of the first season of the AppleTV show Pluribus. Not to spoil anything, but "It seems this message had been traveling through the cosmos for 100,000 years" makes me think about how in that show, a strange alien message, once received and decoded by humanity ("They broke the code"), meant that "everything that they had known would have to be forgotten, and they would have to start from the beginning again."
Essentially, "Get Down" = submit to your alien overlords.
I also can't help but think that Porno For Pyros' "Pets" was part of the inspiration for this song, not just lyrically, but ESPECIALLY that little bass trill.
