Interpretations:Birdhouse In Your Soul (Demo)

From This Might Be A Wiki

This further supports my theory that the lighthouse in Birdhouse in Your Soul is a malicious presence; the first verse has the narrator spying on us and telling us what to think, while the second shows the narrator making the world uninhabitable for his own insane whims. (I have no explantions for Flansy's yells at the end.)

Again, if anyone wants to connect this to religion...--64.131.249.17 20:51, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

Something that’s really interesting to me about this version is just how cruel and immature the blue canary is, intentionally or not. He seems to be a pretty toxic friend. First he’s just dismissive (“I don't want to talk about that/And no one listens to that”), and later he talks about how he’d rather ignore an issue (he couldn’t tolerate all the empty places in the world) and just sweep it under the rug—- or, rather, cover it with a fresh-baked yummy desert. He just strikes me as a guy who doesn’t have any of his own problems figured out, and gives out frankly awful advice to his friends (Don't you say anything/If you have anything to do with it), and even then, that’s assuming he finally gave them the time of day. let me just say...[edit]

I love these other interpretations!!

The line about "The one who listens/but shes the one you worry about" (or something like that) to me is a line talking about getting friendzoned. our protagonist shares all his problems with Blue Canary, who is the only one willing to listen to him, but the only person our protagonist cares about is a girl. (double points if the girl is toxic/doesn't listen to our protagonist) our protagonist is just off chasing the next pretty girl, and doesn't realize the real help is right under his nose. -Fettuchini
