Fan Recaps and Comments:

The Talent Show appearance. The Johns were among the guests of this monthly themed variety show. This month's theme was Speech and Debate. The performers competed in a variety of types of speech and debate commonly seen in high school and college debate competitions. The Johns, along with a band called Stuckey and Murray, and the team of Dave Hill and Jonathan Coulton, competed in a category called Extemporaneous Song, where they were given a choice between 2 topics on which to write a song, one article on the topic and 30 minutes to compose before performing it for the audience. Unlike the rest of the categories in the show, this one was not judged as it was deemed too difficult to judge music. The Giants were given a choice between writing on "The Anniversary of the Sinking of the River Boat Sultana on April 27, 1865," and the topic they ultimately selected, "Reptiles Eat with the Bones We Hear With." Stuckey and Murray chose to write a song about "The Murder of Jon Benet Ramsey: Death or Accident?" and Hill and Coulton composed a classic tune about "The Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton." The musical performances were staggered throughout the show, with the Giants as the final performers. --BlueCanary 14:01, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
