Playlists necessary?
When I did the overhaul of this page last week, it got me thinking that there are a lot of TMBG songs on playlists all across the various streaming platforms. Just as an example, Spotify keeps coming out with playlists like "90s Oldies" (real classy there), "Indie Outsiders", "Alternative 90s" and so on. The "cover art" is quite generic, usually consisting of an era- or genre-appropriate font and a featureless image, which makes me think these are produced by the staff at Spotify and not a record label. The ones on iTunes that I looked at last week seem to fit some of the same criteria I just listed. I guess my question is, do we really need to include streaming-service-produced playlists on TMBW, as if they were sent out by a record label? How noteworthy is the twentieth Spotify playlist that contains "Birdhouse in Your Soul"? I dunno. Plus they probably will keep putting out new ones and scrubbing the old ones, making it harder to keep this page up-to-date. --MisterMe (talk) 09:31, 20 July 2021 (EDT)
