- According to John Flansburgh on NPR's Ask Me Another in 2014, "We were hired to write a theme for America's Most Wanted, and they fired us! We had won a Grammy for a theme for the FOX network for the Malcolm in the Middle show, and so the people at FOX evidently—the speed dial on their phone only holds one number. We're versatile, but evidently not versatile enough."
- This track is an instrumental "styled as an update on the 'crime jazz' sound of 50's TV themes with a pretty wild electronic rhythm track," according to Flansburgh.
