Guitarists

The cover of Richard Thompson's solo album Rumor and Sigh shows a cartoon image of the guitarist with a weird horizontal strip under his lower lip. Harvey Mandel is another guitarist with a history of strange facial hair. --Nehushtan (talk) 18:16, 22 August 2019 (EDT)

I think the art of Rumor and Sigh is fairly representative of how Thompson looked at the time. If you check out this press release image, you'll see that he actually does have a darker portion to his beard running right under his mouth. It makes me wonder if the Johns are big-time RT fans--why else reference this then-20-plus-year-old album cover in an obscure song under sock puppet alter egos? --MisterMe (talk) 13:31, 23 August 2019 (EDT)
