john m is a musician thanks to They Might Be Giants. He was accepted to a competitive music conservatory for drumming by continually listening to and learning from Dan Hickey. He taught himself to play guitar, bass, keyboard, and how to sing by repeatedly playing TMBG songs. He even completed his TMBG training by performing Don't Let's Start in early TMBG fashion (playing along to pre-recorded drums and bass).
john m makes music under the name Doctor Worm, which he decided to use when he first began recording songs for SongFight. He was in a ska band called No Time to Lose; they released one album, then broke up.
john m promises that when he is a famous rockstar, he will continue to wear TMBG shirts and promote TMBG fandom.
