Talk:Tractor

They Might be Squeeze.

Very squeeze like. Back in the day this would have made a solid track 4 of an EP.

Chords, keys, words[edit]

I like the way the key shifts through the bridge ("You've got the soul of a treadmill...") and comes back home for the final verse. It feels very natural, but also appears to be very worked out. Also the lyrics are rather jolting, and fun to sing and think about. When I first heard the song, I didn't think it was very deep & I was annoyed with the repetition of the word "tractor"... but it was that very annoyance which prompted me to dig in further. --Nehushtan (talk) 01:03, 3 August 2020 (EDT)

john linnell is a modulation master. triops is another fav of mine for how the bridge shifts into a different key and then winds up back in the original so smoothly you don't even realise it happened. --ant 03:03, 3 August 2020 (EDT)
I had absolutely forgotten that transition and, true to your words, its subtle resolution had sneaked by me! Triops has always been one of my favorite kid's songs, and now I have a new way to appreciate it... fun stuff --Nehushtan (talk) 16:39, 3 August 2020 (EDT)
