Talk:Robot Parade

From This Might Be A Wiki

Does anybody have a movie of when They performed it on Conan? I heard the audience didn't get it... - Ecks

I have a version of this song that I can't match up to any of the versions listed. It is 3:38 in length, does not sound like it's live, has a heavy synth drum riff throughout and runs about the same bpm as the album version. Anyone have any ideas? - Lodestone77

Could you upload it to a service like mediafire.com? I'd like to hear it. Where'd you get it from? -65.165.108.19 13:33, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
Here U go: [1]. This is the first version of Robot Parade I ever heard, and I do not know exactly where it came from...a fellow fan gave it to me on a mix and he doesn't remember where it came from. --Lodestone 14:01, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
Hmm... sounds like a Fan Mix to me. Not bad, though. --MooseBlaster 17:12, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
Heh, sounds like a Dust Bros. remix or something, but I guess we can't really know for sure unless we find a source. Akagi 18:09, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
Sounds like a fan made remix
Googled a little, apparently a fan named Kender made a remix of the song ("Kender's Nuts Gadgets Remix"). So, there's your likely answer. -CapitalQtalk ♪ 19:25, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the help guys, but do you really think it's fan made as i've had it since well before Mink Car came out. Out of curiousity what about the song makes poeple think it sounds "fan-made"? Maybe it's just because i've been listening to it for years but i've always assumed it was an official remix. The guy who gave me the song is coming by tonight; I'll put him in a headlock and noogie him until he tells me where he found it! Will post here post-haste post-noogie. Until I get a better answer though, I will be calling it Kender's Nuts Mix. Thanks again!--Lodestone 00:21, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
The fact that there's no isolated tracks in the remix pretty much give it away; it's mainly just 'copied and pasted' chunks of the officially mixed final track, put over some miscellaneous sampled loops. In a few places the beat is kinda off with the song, which a more professional remixer would generally try to avoid. This and the fact that no official remix of the song has ever been mentioned anywhere kind of give it away. -CapitalQtalk ♪ 00:45, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
So I asked my friend and he told me he downloaded it with a P2P program from a collection of remixes called "nuts and bolts". I say that is pretty good corroborating evidence that Capital Q is correct..this is the "Kender's Nuts Gadgets Remix" Thanks again for the help.--Lodestone 23:27, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
