Laughing Linnell[edit]

Depressing subject matter can be uplifting, as the best of The Smiths and Morrissey's work demonstrates. The trick is for the song to make an emotional connection from the lyrics/melody to the listener. Linnell, more than capable of doing this doesn't manage it here, probably because he's too oblique rather than straightforward. Sounding like something off the Spine Surfs Alone EP, it's almost a solo performance with the band acting as back up. The piano riff, like Let's get this over with just isn't strong enough and with no other counter melodies, it's another wordy plodder. For an album called I like fun, this really isn't. (Mr Tuck)

Embedded video doesn't work[edit]

For me the music video can't be watched here because it is "age-restricted and only available on YouTube". Anyone else see this? --ColorOfInfinity (talk) 20:38, 18 January 2021 (EST)

Yep. It's also the case on the dialasong.com too, it actually messed up the ParticleMen YouTube channel, now random videos like the music video for the Dallas venue song, and a video explaining the DAS Radio Network are all age-restricted. Weird. - HotelDetectiveInTheFuture🪗 talk 🎸
This particular video was probably age-restricted because of blood/gore. --ColorOfInfinity (talk) 01:35, 25 April 2022 (EDT)
