Talk:Kiss Me, Son Of God

From This Might Be A Wiki

why is there a horrible video of a little girl sining this song linked to this page?

because it's just great, that's why. ~ magbatz 22:50, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
If you don't feel like browsing the history, they mean this, and it is great. You might have to refresh that a buncha times before it pops up, and there might be some strange characters. -Apollo (oh no!) 03:23, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
It would appear that the video has disappeared. Let us all have a moment of silence for whatever that so-called video was. We hardly knew ye. Hell, I didn't know ye at all. -Bouncer15111

Always found it a little weird that people (including Flans) talk about Your Racist Friend as if it’s TMBG’s BIG POLITICAL BREAKTHROUGH when songs like this already existed! Granted, the lyrics on something Put Your Hand Inside The Puppet Head might be a bit too oblique for some to pick up on the politics in there, but who listens to a song that contains the words “the blood of the exploited working class” and thinks, “Hmmm, yes, nothing political there”? — (User:Stareadactyl)

mmm i loooovvveee Kiss Me, Son Of God yum

My Bad[edit]

For years, I heard the lyrics as if a critique of socialist leaders in benighted societies. ('I built a little empire out of some crazy garbage called the blood of the exploited working class' ... 'now they're calling me your Highness')

Which made me wonder if TMBG might be channelling Orwell.

Then I come here and read that the song is directed at dodgy evangelical (?) religious figures.

Mitchell Trio Connection?[edit]

I'm hearing small similarities in lyrics/music/subject in this Mitchell Trio song "God is Dead": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkmjz3S_Ylc
