Talk:Coke Radio Ad

From This Might Be A Wiki

After sneaking around the official Mono Puff website, I found this: http://www.monopuff.org/sounds/alwaysbe.wav. It's a demo of the Coke Radio Ad, and since it's all sung by Flansburgh and was released on the Mono Puff site in 1998 and not tmbg.com (which also had demo WAVs around that time), I'd assume this proves that Linnell had nothing to do with the creation of this track, which means we can take the rumor part out of the second fact on this song's page. What does everyone else think? -CapitalQtalk ♪ 20:50, 8 Mar 2006 (CST)

Sounds like a plan. -Cronny

Shall we change the artist then too? -Cody-schmidt

No, it was released in TMBG Unlimited with the artist as They Might Be Giants. Just because only one John worked on it doesn't mean it can't be released under the band's name. -CapitalQtalk ♪ 21:45, 4 Jun 2006 (CDT)

Separate version?[edit]

Should we add a separate version for the demo song? --Duke33 22:29, 5 May 2006 (CDT)

Yup, done. -CapitalQtalk ♪ 22:37, 5 May 2006 (CDT)

Reminder of Who?[edit]

This is a clever collection of Flansy snippets, and reminds me of The Who's similar attempt on The Who Sell Out [1]. --MisterMe 14:31, 27 February 2012 (EST)

Move to Always be Giants?[edit]

Seems like the proper title for this ad is suggested by the demo! "Coke Radio Ad" is a wiki-invention, we should use one of the official names: Always be Giants, Mystery Track or Coca-Cola. Thoughts? -OldpineboxTalk 16:03, 29 August 2020 (EDT)

Always Be Giants is the name given to the demo. --ColorOfInfinity (talk) 21:30, 29 August 2020 (EDT)
