Ondine omission[edit]

Does anyone here know why Ondine was omitted in Germany? ~Anna Ng: The Only TMBG Fan In Her Class

I don't know, but I'm guessing that maybe Germans didn't like the idea of having your body run over by a truck, or threatening to kill someone again. Their loss.
Okay, having done a little bit of research (read: looking up Back To Skull on Wikipedia), I noticed that someone said it had been omitted due to "violent themes of criminal activities, death and killing". Of course, Wikipedia can be edited by anyone, and I kinda doubt it'd be disallowed on an album solely because of that. (I have MUCH more violent songs on my iPod, that's for sure...and I wrote an epic simile based on Ondine in MY 8TH GRADE ENGLISH CLASS...) Are the Germans really that squeamish? Holy stupidity. I just now realized the pun in "Back to Skull." ~ magbatz 19:26, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

If I recall correctly, I didn't realize it until my mom pointed it out to me. XD Now that I know about it, though, it's hilarious. ~Anna Ng hears your words. 07:37, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, I didn't realize it until about last week or two weeks ago. Hur hur me stupid. --WhatIsThatThing 19:58, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
The pun is trying to sound like Back To School right? or am i just dumb?--Goodtimes2

$$$[edit]

So how much did "everybody" pay for a copy this? I want to buy it and am curious to see reasonable price. (Since I paid $25 for my copy of Gigantic and everybody else here paid from $10-20. :P) --Lemita 12:50, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

I don't remember how much I originally paid, but the CD's been out-of-print for, I believe, over a decade now, so it's a bit more of a rarity than Gigantic (which TMBG still sells). GEMM.com has some copies now and then (it's got two right now). -CapitalQtalk ♪ 13:21, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
(Thanks for adding the header. :D) Okay, thanks... I'll check around. --Lemita 13:39, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
I paid about $6 at Sam Goody in 1994. --Oddjob 18:49, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
I'm not totally sure, but I think I spent about $10 on it in the late '90s. I got it from the TMBG Web store at the same that I got the Why Does The Sun Shine? EP, and I'm still kind of ticked by the fact that the copies I got were cutouts. They were sold legally by the band, so why slice into them? I hate cutouts and drill holes . . . *grumble* ~Drew
The cheapest you can get a used copy on Amazon.com is about $16.99. There's one on ebay right now for a lot less, but it's the European version without Ondine. I'm not counting on getting a copy anytime soon... Perspixx 07:14, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
Have you checked half.com? They have it for about $6.95 right now, in fact it's a good place to buy used copies of the commercially-released singles. Almost all the singles are usually available. Oddjob
A little late, but thanks for the half.com pointer. I got a copy of Back to Skull there for $2.99 (and the Istanbul EP for $1.58). Perspixx 17:30, 17 September 2011 (EDT)
