SenSurround Promotional Tape
The SenSurround Promotional Tape is a self-released cassette by They Might Be Giants, featuring the 1995 Neil Dorfsman-produced version of "SenSurround". It contains three identical recordings of the song, followed by an instrumental version. The tape was distributed within the music industry as a promotional item and was not intended for public release.

"SenSurround" was recorded in April 1995 and officially released on the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers soundtrack in June of that year, which is likely around the time this cassette was produced.
The recording featured on the tape is the same as the final released version, but includes roughly 14 seconds of studio chatter, percussion, and a count-in before the song begins. Each of the four tracks feature slightly different edits of the studio chatter. The instrumental track removes John Linnell's lead vocals but is otherwise identical to the final released version.
The tape's presentation is notably minimal. The cassette and insert both feature typed titles, and the front of the insert bears a sticker of the band's logo. Unlike most promotional releases, the tape lacks any copyright or contact information. This sparse layout suggests that the cassette was produced relatively informally, probably in a small quantity by the band's management, The Hornblow Group, without the involvement of Elektra. The band appears to have distributed a few similar single-track promotional cassettes around the same time, including tapes for "Metal Detector",[1] and possibly "We've Got A World That Swings".[2]
