MINK CAR
They Might Be Giants' legendary lost album Mink Car has returned!
THE ALBUM
Packed with audience favorites, Mink Car found the band collaborating with multiple producers including a return round of songs with Flood hitmakers Langer and Winstanley. The album also spotlighted the talented production of newcomer Adam Schlesinger (Fountains of Wayne) on multiple songs including Man, It's So Loud in Here.
THE STORY
Released on 9/11/01, Mink Car was functionally out of print as a CD after the initial copies arrived in stores with financing withdrawn from Restless Records in the panic after 9/11. They were bankrupt just weeks later, and with iTunes and digital music brand new to the scene, the rights to the album would become ensnared in the company’s collapse, and even electronic availability was frozen for over a decade.

The updated digital version of Mink Car now features all 4 bonus tracks from the original Japanese CD release: the Grammy-award winning theme song from Malcolm in the Middle Boss of Me, Your Mom's Alright featuring M. JOHN HENRY
This legendary album is a true powerhouse of musicianship, and is presented for the first time as a double album. They Might Be Giants' full band debut finds the Johns joined by Brian Doherty on drums, Kurt Hoffman on keys and woodwinds, and twin bass legends Tony Maimone (Pere Ubu, Bob Mould) and Graham Maby (Joe Jackson, Freedy Johnston).
Coming off extensive live band touring behind Apollo 18, for TMBG, John Henry is a hard left turn back into the world of the contained rock combo. At the core of the album is a remarkable set of rollicking songs: Snail Shell, Subliminal, and Meet James Ensor all immediately established themselves as show-stoppers, and audiences' appreciation for the album has only grown over the years. The album is also full of wild sonic surprises like the manic improvisation of Spy and the rich vocal harmonies delivered by Hudson Shad on O, Do Not Forsake Me.
This two-disc set is an audiophile's dream. The full 20-track program of the original CD release has been remastered by Sterling Sound and spread over three LP sides. Side D features live rarities of the John Henry era, pressed on vinyl for the very first time. Presented on 180-gram, neon orange vinyl.
APOLLO 18
Back on vinyl, this legendary album is now pressed on INTERSTELLAR BLACK AND WHITE. In space, no one can tell when you are stealing a cigarette, but this remarkable audiophile pressing includes a beautiful plume of cosmic smoke across the groove. And inside the grooves themselves are the classic tracks that make Apollo 18 a perennial favorite. This album has been hard for us to keep in press, and this specific design is limited, so you know what to do...

THE “PINK” ALBUM
Nineteen unforgettable tracks of what fans would dub “the pink album" portended the lo-fi movement that would come to define much of the alternative music scene. Upon its release in late 1986, these are the songs that started it all. Fueled by a series of unforgettable MTV videos, this album would ship over 150,000 units in its first year. Recorded by the band in their apartments on 4-track, as well as 8-track at Studio PASS, and working after hours through the benevolence of producer Bill Krauss and engineer Alex Noyes, the disc was finally completed at Al Houghton’s Dubway Studios in the legendary (and hellish) Music Building off of Times Square. Originally released on the Hoboken label Bar/None, this album is TMBG's musical mission statement, packed with unforgettable songs and sounds. Put Your Hand Inside the Puppet Head, Don’t Let’s Start, Number Three, 32 Footsteps, Youth Culture Killed My Dog, and many more.
Long out of print in any physical format, this vinyl pressing was a labor of love. Sensitively remastered at Sterling Sound by UE Nastasi, this is a legendary project we know many of you have been waiting for. The vinyl edition is especially dazzling –– pressed on 180g vinyl, includes the original lyric insert (with typos fixed!), and a smartly reproduced cover all made under the careful guidance of art maestro TS Rogers.

Why is the world in love again? They Might Be Giants have released I Like Fun, a remarkable 15-track album.
I Like Fun jumps with surprises, vitality, and the startling point of view of these Brooklyn originals. Over a year in the making, songwriters and band founders John Linnell and John Flansburgh draw on themes of dread, death, and disappointment and set them to their driving, hyper-melodic music. The results will leave even the most heavy-hearted among us with a renewed sense of wonder. Fresh and sonically adventurous, the band’s command of the studio and the song is in rare form from beginning to end.
On I Like Fun, the spotlight is also on the band’s formidable long-standing live lineup; drummer Marty Beller, bassist Danny Weinkauf and lead guitarist Dan Miller. It’s just about fun, like TMBG's legendary first kids album, No! Why? is memorable songs in a family-friendly package with none of that pandering aftertaste.
Like previous TMBG kid productions, it’s a family affair with John Flansburgh’s wife Robin “Goldie” Goldwasser singing a couple of tracks, while bassist Danny Weinkauf, joined by his daughter, steps up to the mic for the song Elephants. Alison Cowles, the daughter of longtime video animation collaborator David Cowles (The Mesopotamians, We Live in a Dump, Science is Real) has contributed all of the illustrations for the album. Right out of the gate TMBG hits the listener with the odd brilliance of Oh You Did, through the folkie charm of Out of A Tree, the full rocking of Or So I Have Read, the perky I Just Want to Dance, and wrapping things up with the optimism of Then The Kids Took Over. THE ELSE
Including long-time audience favorites The Mesopotamians, Withered Hope, and Careful What You Pack, THE ELSE weighs in with 13 lucky songs, and finds They Might Be Giants collaborating on production with the Dust Bros. (Beastie Boys, Beck) and Patrick Dillett. Here Come The 123s is TMBG’s lucky thirteenth album, their third children’s album, and the first album to win the band a Grammy (for Best Children’s Album 2009). Includes Seven Days of the Week (I Never Go To Work) and the Dust Bros. produced Seven and Hot Dog! (featured on the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse). The album was produced by Patrick Dillett and TMBG and includes songs written by legendary sidemen Dan Miller, Marty Beller, and Danny Weinkauf.
THE SPINE
They Might Be Giants' 10th album is a banger from beginning to end, and The Spine is now finally available on vinyl. Filled with audience favorites still in TMBG's show to this day, the album has become many a fan’s favorite. From the drumming of newcomer Marty Beller, the Homestar Runner video of Experimental Film, to the illustrations of Zohar Lazar on the album’s cover, this album is legendary in every way. This pressing includes the rarity Renew My Subscription which was recorded but not included in the original release.

LONG TALL WEEKEND
Originally released by eMusic in July 1999, Long Tall Weekend made history as the first full-length online-only album ever to be released. The wait for the legendary album's vinyl release has finally ended with a special, remastered 180g audiophile pressing. Along with some true rarities, the album delivers definitive versions of Older, They Got Lost, The Edison Museum, and Maybe I Know and includes a very special bonus track: Dr. Evil w/ Robin Goldwasser, the opening theme from “Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me”.
THE JOHN HENRY DEMOS
Long a popular bootleg among folks who enjoy that kind of thing, these demo sessions for They’s fifth album John Henry mark a fascinating moment in the evolution of that project and their evolution as a band. Recorded in Williamsburg in what was then the newly-opened Excello Studio, the new lineup of They Might Be Giants pulled together an entire album's worth of material over a few days with legendary performances along with a wide variety of local musical luminaries. Finally available in a fully remixed and mastered format, this set of songs rivals and, for some, eclipses the final finished product.
The LP is a deluxe 2-record package featuring a 12-inch 180g orange disc and a 7-inch bonus disc. John Henry Demos is available exclusively from Idlewild Recordings and will not be posted to streaming sites.
APOLLO 18 PICTURE DISC
Finally Apollo 18 gets its own PICTURE DISC. Full high-quality audio fidelity combined with ultra vivid imagery from this legendary album. The cover includes the classic giant squid and whale captured in mid-tussle, while the back is a brand new animated psychedelic zoetrope of Apollo 18 photo and video ephemera created by Drew Tetz. (You will need a smart phone video camera and a glass hookah to experience it in its full psychedelic glory! Viewing instructions are included on the LP's jacket.)
DON'T LET'S START EP
They Might Be Giants’ Don't Let's Start EP, along with the legendary accompanying video, launched the band into national prominence back in 1987. Like the multiple pressings over that year, this re-issue sports a unique colorway –– this time an eyeball-melting neon green jacket! The disc was remastered by UE Nastasi at Sterling Sound and is pressed on 180g night sky black vinyl.
