VINYL AND THE JOHN HENRY DEMOS
In other John Henry news: our team at Idlewild Recordings is hard at work on a proper vinyl re-issue as well. Recreating the original artwork has been a complicated task as the implosion of the major labels seems to have also destroyed all their art files and, with no films, creating a new full-sized vinyl package is, uh, hard. But we are pondering the imponderables, and when we find a proper solution, we know it will have been worth the wait.

But did you know about the John Henry Demos?

Well, we made them, and it is the full band performing essentially the entire album before we went into the fancy studio. At some points the performances are more spirited. At other times, it’s just interesting to see the evolution of the project. The John Henry Demos is an Idlewild exclusive download, not on streaming sites, and available for FREE today from us.

When They Might Be Giants hits the road for the Big Show Tour of the US in December, we will be shining a spotlight on this album with our barnstorming live band. One show in each market will be a celebration of John Henry. That's 1 of 2 in Philly, 1 of 3 in DC, 1 of 1 in Brooklyn (!), and 1 of 2 in Boston! Which night will it happen? We will never tell.
