From This Might Be A Wiki
Greetings everyone. This is a very exciting time for They Might Be Giants!

We just did a few days of sessions recording new material for the 2012 Instant Fan Club offerings. Yes, we're already figuring that out--it's going to be AMBITIOUS but we're excited about the possibilities.

Did a couple of tracks for the Avatars of They EP (yes, who knows what it really means, but those wooly fellows are making their own recordings now) along with some other "to be determined" stuff. Happy to report the band is all in good health and ready for the upcoming stuff!

Just last week we launched a video for When Will You Die? which has garnered over 50,000 views on YouTube. Crazy.

On Thursday the 26th we're appearing on Conan O'Brien and then we're back on the road.

We are very excited that so many of the early shows have already SOLD OUT, and do want to remind everyone that tickets seem to going a bit more briskly these days so if you are looking to make it out to a show you might want to get yourself sorted sooner than later--and we mean you Florida! All the info you need is below!

Here's a photo of Marty's burned up bass drum.

Today is the day you should buy They Might Be Giants' new rarities album

Some of the reasons?

The song Marty Beller Mask, written and recorded quite spontaneously in October between the first two legs of the Join Us tour. The song tells the story of Whitney Houston, her struggle with stardom and her ultimate personal breakthrough taking on the public persona of Marty Beller, drummer for They Might Be Giants.

Then there is Electronic Istanbul (Not Constantinople). This new track completely reimagines the song. The entire band is working synthesized instruments. Notably John Linnell mans his curcuit-bent Speak and Spell and Dan Miller delivers an arresting performance on the microKORG vocoder. "Yikes!" indeed.

Many fell in love with the live in-studio performance video of Cloisonne and that fine recording is included here, and if you get the set directly from TMBG's site you get a ton of goodies--all the videos from Join Us, as well as your own pdf of the Join Us paper monster hearse.
