Hey hey Flansburgh here- We're preparing the band for the big Oct. run with Dave Eggers and the McSweeney's. Just so everyone understands how the "special" gigs work- we're playing essentially a full set with the extra special band of Dans, after a special set where we accompany Dave and other McSweeney's writers (playing songs from Issue #6 and others). Opening up is the Trachtenburg Family Slide Show Players (who will be appearing on Conan on Nov. 5, so set your make-believe Tivo!). This is a guaranteed BIG NIGHT OUT not to be repeated so if you are in DC, Philly, St. Paul or Chicago- get yourself out the door and to the show!
We have also made a promise to ourselves that we will have a new, free MP3 on the www.theymightbegiants.com site THIS WEDNESDAY. Get "Your Mom's Alright" with Mike Doughty while it's still there!
With a four star review in Rolling Stone (!) the Rhino compilation is out in stores- and I gotta say- the package is super cool.
