Gotta say, not hearing the 'zine' lyric! Anyone else? -CapitalQ ♫ talk ♪ 21:19, 26 July 2012 (EDT)
- i do agree that "zine" is more consistent with the rest of the lyrics. i can hear the lyric going either way, but it's worth noting that flans enunciates fairly well in this demo and it seems weird that the "naked in the" line would be slurred together the way it would have to be to fit. -Apollo (colloquia!) 21:36, 26 July 2012 (EDT)
- i always thought it was "makin' a scene" -- 21:58, 26 July 2012 (EDT)
- Oops, didn't mean to start controversy here. Listening to the rhyme ("jeans") and the overall message of the song, "makin' a zine" seems to be more fitting than "naked in the sea". I could see the "makin' a scene" being another alternative thematically, but it sounds more like a "zi" than a "sc" sound. Another possible argument toward "zine" is that making zines was probably something associated with hipster youth culture at the time.
- Was there an official lyric sheet with this promotional release? Now, I'm really curious what the line actually is. -thevince 27 July 2012
