Talk:Damn Good Times
I think that the "Mario World" trivia is a stretch. Listening to the given file, the melody is completely different than the DGT solo. The only similarity is that they use an electric guitar with a little feedback and are in a minor key. Anybody else agree? -AtionSong 15:08, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

Video[edit]
When the video was posted on the tmbg website an e-mail was sent out which included a link to the website of the guy who made the video. I lost the address and now I can't find any info. Anyone at least know the artist's name?
- It's by Divya Srinivasan, see http://www.pupae.com/portfolio/animation04.html. :) -CapitalQ ♫ talk ♪ 20:09, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
'Show' Reference[edit]
When my friend got amnesia, She can't remember the show she saw, Like the one with the guy with amnesia, Who got off from the island on a helicopter
Does anyone know what 'show' are they referring to here? I'm assuming it's a TV show... --Thaddius 18:19, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
- I always wondered that too. My guess is Lost, because it's about an island. But I've never actually seen it, so I can't say that for sure. Akagi 18:30, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
- Lost is unlikely, because according to the article this was first played Jan 2004, whereas Lost first aired in Sept, 2004 (according to wikipedia). I've never actually watched Lost though, is there a character with amnesia who gets off of the island via helicopter? --Thaddius 19:37, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
- As the wonderfully insightful 64.28.62.209 first pointed out on the interpretations page, it is most likely referencing "the ending of an episode of Gilligan's Island -- guy makes it to the island on helicopter, promises to bring help, leaves, gets amnesia, forgets the stranded crew. Hilarity ensues." I haven't seen this episode personally, but that seems to be the best guess. ~ magbatz 22:51, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
- According to wikipedia, the only episode that involved amnesia was Episode 0703: "Forget Me Not", where the skipper gets amnesia but nothing of a man in a helicopter... --Thaddius 12:10, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
- Phooey. ~ magbatz 20:35, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
- My best guess is The Prisoner, an obscure British TV series from the 1970s. It's about a secret agent with amnesia trying to escape from an island. Helicopters are involved at various points in the story. Sounds pretty fitting to me, according to Flans' preferences in telewatching. - Whirrrlwind (Woosh!) 23:21, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

I have a parody of this[edit]
My sister's boyfriend is named Sam, and so we (me and my sister) sing this by switching Damn Good Times into "Sam Good Times" We change every time he says 'Girl' into 'Guy' and instead of 'David Lee Roth' we say 'Kathleen Hanna'. Who knows, maybe I'll put it on my first CD. -User:Flansfan
The beginning[edit]
With the audience, and the guitar lead-in. It reminds me a lot of The Smiths' song "Rusholme Ruffians!" Anyone else notice?
The (almost) Perfect Giants Song[edit]
This song contains my favourite Giants lyric
When my friend got amnesia She can't remember the show she saw Like the one with the guy with amnesia Who got off of the island on a helicopter
I just love the absurdness off it. Get's me everytime. A real barnstormer of a song, and Flans at his best. Why nearly perfect? The tedious guitar outro. After all the quick fire energy it's like watching a balloon slowly deflate. I'd love an edit version! (Mr Tuck)
Demo?[edit]
Does anyone have the demo or know where I can find it? Mr. Tuck called the demo/live version the "definitive" version and now I'm curious. --Supernintendo64 (talk) 17:52, 29 May 2016 (EDT)
Gosh. Trying to thing back. I think I heard it on the clock radio. It's played quicker and it doesn't have the guitar ending. I've not heard it for years. (Mr Tuck)
