Preview of the show from the Richmond-Times Dispatch, Jan. 16, 1987:
Clubs open, clubs close. Leading off this week's list of casualties is Jim Dini's Magic Room in Shockoe Slip. The space won't be empty for long, however. Beginning Monday local promoters are joining forces to open The Magic Cave. A New York duo, They Might Be Giants, will kick off the opening night festivities, but operators hope to book local artists on a regular basis.
