They Might Be Giants
— with Watchface's "Stereotype" co-headlining —
The Cat Club in New York, NY
November 4, 1985 at 10:00 PM

Fan Recaps and Comments:

This was a benefit show for 8BC, an East Village nightclub and performance space that had closed on October 22, 1985. The event aimed to raise funds to help cover more than $20,000 in outstanding debt owed by the venue's owners.[1] A listing in the November 4, 1985 issue of the New York Daily News described the show:

CAT CLUB: 76 E. 13th St. 10 p.m. $6. They're down, but not out. A staff relief party for those great people of 8 B.C. which was forced to close down recently. Spectacular performances by the stars that made 8 B.C. famous. Pretend you're back on Eighth St.

This show marked the first time the band shared a bill with the performance art group Watchface. The two groups later became friends after appearing together at a show at The Kitchen in February 1986, and went on to regularly share bills throughout the 1980s.
