A member of Spondee, Flat Old World and John Linnell And The Statesmen. He has also played harmonica and sung with Amy Allison and The Maudlins and Flat Old World, both of which were a part of The Hello CD Of The Month Club. Great drummer. Highly-charged singer. Writes cryptic songs and homey songs, and sometimes they're both the same song. According to press surrounding his solo album The Old Joy, John Flansburgh calls him "one of the best songwriters around."
