Maybe she's talking about the light turning green as in the "walk/don't walk" sign... even though they turn white.

This is (apparently) an old public service announcement from the State of New York Department of Public Safety. I have another version of it (with slightly more sensible lyrics, IMO) on a CD called TV Toons: The Commercials. -- TimK

I think when she says 'wait until the light turns green', she means the light of the street perpendicular to the one you are trying to cross. -Ganna

Actually, I've seen a number of pedestrian lights that are set up exactly like regular traffic lights (green, yellow, red). Hell, I go to college in Ellensburg, WA and they have lights like that here for pedestrians. -JazzJesus
