Named NUMBER ONE on the “Best Kids Bands of 2012” by Time Out New York The career of Brooklyn’s beloved They Might Be Giants has been a series of unexpected turns, but the release of their first family album No! in 2002 might have been the most celebrated turn of all. Not only did it set in motion what would become hugely successful second career for the band, the band would become role models for other acts, ushering in a new creative era in kid’s music. To celebrate the album’s 10 year anniversary, Idlewild Recordings is creating a special re-issue of the album with seven bonus tracks. New tracks include a new studio version of Alphabet of Nations and a mind-bending live version of Robot Parade. Check out the MP3 for “Clap Your Hands” where it premiered with AV Club or HERE. Following the critical and audience raves for No!, They Might Be Giants joined forces with Disney Sound for their “Here Comes” CD and DVD series. 2005’s Here Come The ABCs was named “the year's best children's album” by Amazon.com, while the accompanying DVD was certified gold. Both sequels received GRAMMY nominations, with 2008’s Here Come The 123s earning the band their second GRAMMY award, for “Best Children’s Album.” With four home-run kid’s releases under their belt, They Might Be Giants special, and inevitably sold out, family shows have become extraordinary happenings; truly redefining the all-ages rock show at the most unlikely venues including The Museum of Natural History, the Hall of Science, The Kennedy Center and Royce Hall.
