Physical copy
THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS are a musical duo out of New York City with John Linnel on vocals, accordian, sax and John Flansburgh on vocals and guitar. Accompanied by a taped rhythm track of their own design, THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS create an unusual and engaging performance.

Since the release of their self-titled debut album in November '86 the group has gained both popular and critical acclaim. Their first video appeared in regular rotation on MTV and the group has received favorable reviews in Spin, Rolling Stone, NME, the New York Times and People Magazine. In 1987 the group has toured much of the US and Europe and currently plans to tour Japan in early 88.

John Linnell and John Flansburgh met in grammar school in Lincoln, Massachusetts. After highschool Linnell played in a popular Rhode Island rock band the Mundanes while Flansburgh went on a world tour of institutions of higher learning. The pair finally found themselves reunited in New York City in 1981, coincidentally moving into the same railroad apartment building in Brooklyn. After stealing the band name from a ventriloqist friend's list of potential project titles, THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS were off and rocking, rapidly becoming a staple on the downtown music scene.

The song "Don't Let's Start," a proven favorite from their debut LP is now available as a single and video. This 12" maxi single features three previously unavailable songs including "We're The Replacements, the band's tribute to Paul Westerberg and Company.

THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS DIAL-A-SONG recently celebrated its third anniversary. Continuing to feature a new song daily, THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS phone machine eagerly awaits you at 718-387-6962. It's free when you call from work!
